The Jurassic Garden
The Jurassic Garden has been built to best showcase the Jurassic elements of Whitby’s coastline. The footpath around the path showcases the fossils which can be found on the beaches and within the cliffs around Whitby, including ammonites and an exciting model of the Gharial crocodile which was first found in Saltwick Bay in 1824.
The Commemorative Garden
The Commemorative Garden is a dedicated garden space which reflects on the fallen soldiers from WW1 – WW2. This garden is a reflective area which has a dedicated monument consisting of sandstone arches, which have the phrase ‘We Will Remember Them’ inscribed across the arches. Guests are welcome to sit on the benches adjacent to the arches, which have an excellent view across Whitby and Whitby Abbey.
Community Garden
The Community Garden is the perfect spot for a picnic in the sun with young children. This garden is looked after by individuals with different learning abilities who look after the vegetable beds and herb garden. Locals and visitors alike are invited to help themselves to the herb garden (within moderation) as part of the community garden scheme. as we are only a short seven-minute drive away (via Hawsker Lane) from Whitby Town Centre.
South Seas Garden
The South Seas Garden is connected to Pannett Park via the Union Terrace. A walk through this garden is really pleasant as there is plenty to stop and look at. The South Seas Garden is filled with Maori statues, art, and flowers to represent and reflect on Captain James Cook’s journey to the Southern Hemisphere.
Lily Pool
The Lily Pool is a delightful pond area which was inspired by Japanese design. The foundation here illuminates once it gets dark, creating a relaxing environment for all who wish to sit in this area of the park. We think that this tranquil spot is the perfect place to have a short moment of reflection whilst visiting Whitby.
Getting to Pannett Park
The journey to Pannett Park from our Whitby Holiday Park is extremely straightforward. The drive only takes roughly eight minutes via Hawsker Lane.
